Silverman Brings 25 Years Healthcare Marketing Experience


WESTBOROUGH, Mass., Oct. 4, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Viking Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VKNG), a leading worldwide developer, manufacturer and marketer of 3D and 2D visualization solutions for complex minimally invasive surgery, has appointed Jennifer A. Silverman to the newly created position of Vice President, Marketing. Reporting to Jed Kennedy, President and CEO, Ms. Silverman will assume direct responsibility for developing and implementing Viking's global marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining Viking Systems, Ms. Silverman was Director, Marketing Communications for Salient Surgical. Her experience includes all facets of marketing for several medical device companies. Two of her last three director level marketing positions were with privately held medical device companies that were acquired by Medtronic and Covidien, respectively. Additionally, Ms. Silverman's background includes management positions in sales and marketing during her 11 years with Smith & Nephew's Endoscopy Division and a variety of sales and marketing positions during her seven years with medical device company, C.R. Bard. Ms. Silverman holds an MBA from Rivier College and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
