HealthEast Care System Announces New CEO


ST. PAUL, MN--(Marketwire - Oct 19, 2011) - The HealthEast Board of Directors has selected Kathryn Correia as the new President & CEO of HealthEast Care System. Kathryn will succeed Tim Hanson, who after 39 years with HealthEast, will be retiring in January 2012.

"Kathryn was chosen as the new leader of HealthEast based on her proven track record of passion for patient quality and safety and innovative care," said Fred Harris, Chair, HealthEast Board of Directors. Kathryn has more than 30 years of health care leadership experience and comes from ThedaCare, Inc., where she has served as a Senior Vice President of ThedaCare and President of Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center. Prior to her career at ThedaCare, Kathryn held leadership positions at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pennsylvania, Central Ohio Medical Group in Columbus, Ohio, and at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. She earned a BA from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, a Masters in Health Care Administration from the Ohio State University and a Certificate from the Program for Health Systems Management at Harvard University.

Kathryn will officially begin her new role in early January 2012. She is eager to begin her orientation to HealthEast and will be working closely with Tim Hanson to ensure a seamless transition. "Tim leaves a strong legacy at HealthEast and we are proud of HealthEast's numerous accomplishments and significant growth under his direction," said Fred Harris. "We wish Tim the best in his upcoming retirement."
