Former Los Angeles City Controller Rick Tuttle Endorses Brian C. Johnson for Valley Assembly District

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 27, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 46th District State Assembly Candidate Brian Johnson added former four-term Los Angeles City Controller Rick Tuttle to his list of supporters today. Tuttle's endorsement reflects the broad support Johnson is receiving throughout the Valley. Johnson has also earned the endorsement of Former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan and Former Assembly Majority Leader, Richard Katz.

Tuttle had this to say about Johnson, "Brian Johnson will bring to Sacramento a unique ability to bring together public and private sector interests and fix the tough issues facing our State today. He is committed to providing quality public education to our children, and he will be a force for job creation and getting California's fiscal house in order. I am proud to endorse Brian Johnson."

Johnson responded, "I am thrilled and fortunate that a respected leader like Rick Tuttle is supporting my candidacy. When Rick founded the LA County Young Democrats with Henry Waxman, Howard Berman, and Zev Yaroslavsky he knew the important role that young people throughout LA County could play in our legislative process. I think this endorsement reflects Rick's continued vision for the future of the Democratic Party and the State of California."

"I think Rick Tuttle's endorsement is also a testament to the kind of support my campaign is seeing throughout the Valley," Johnson continued.

The newly drawn 46th Assembly District includes the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Valley Village, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Panorama City, North Hills, Lake Balboa and the Hollywood Hills.

Brian C. Johnson is a Democrat, the former Executive Director of Teach for America in Los Angeles, and the current Executive Director of the Larchmont Charter Schools, a network of high-performing and racially and socio-economically diverse public schools in Los Angeles.
