CipherCloud Joins Cloud Security Alliance

CipherCloud to Educate and Inform on Cloud Computing Threats With Webcast Series and CSA Cloud Security Initiatives

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 29, 2012) - CipherCloud, a leading provider of cloud encryption gateways for public and private clouds, today announced that it has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) as a Corporate Member. The CSA is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within cloud computing, and to provide education on the use of cloud computing to help secure all other forms of computing.

CipherCloud is currently working with the CSA on CloudAudit, a project designed to enable automation and integration of CSA research into technology solutions. Additionally, CipherCloud will be involved with the CSA's two new initiatives, Cloud Data Governance and Innovation, designed to deliver upon the alliance's mission while accelerating delivery of a trusted cloud ecosystem.

CipherCloud's award-winning technology, CipherCloud Gateway 2.0, provides a single gateway as a platform to secure sensitive customer data across multiple public and private cloud applications, such as salesforce.com applications and Amazon Web Services, without impacting functionality or performance. The solution uses comprehensive security controls including strong encryption, tokenization, activity monitoring, and malware detection to address organizations' data privacy, residency, security, and compliance concerns, and to accelerate cloud adoption.

"CipherCloud is providing ground-breaking new technology that supports our initiative to improve cloud computing security," said Jim Reavis, co-founder and Executive Director, CSA. "As a new partner, CipherCloud has joined a committed group of security industry leaders that is one of the key pillars of the CSA."

CipherCloud and the CSA have already begun working together to produce two webcasts in conjunction with CSA research and white papers. The webcast "Demystifying the US Patriot Act: What Every Cloud Security Professional Should Know," geared toward an international audience, will take place on April 24, 2012. Registration is free at: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/376797526. The second webcast, scheduled for April 19, 2012, "The CSA's Top Threats to Cloud Computing-New Research for 2012," will cover updated information since the release of the CSA whitepaper "Top Threats to Cloud Computing V1.0." Registration is available without charge at: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/768434334. Both webcasts are open to non-CSA members.

"We look forward to working with the CSA to not only expand our footprint in the security community, but more importantly, to help inform and educate multiple audiences on the importance of cloud computing security," said Pravin Kothari, Founder and CEO, CipherCloud. "The challenges to secure the cloud continue to evolve every day, and we are on the front lines in this fight. By working together with the CSA, we can promote the use of best practices for securing both today's and tomorrow's cloud environments."
