Wards Corner Chiropractic Wins "Best of Norfolk" Award for Fifth Year

NORFOLK, Va., June 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the fifth straight year, Wards Corner Chiropractic has won the Virginian-Pilot Reader's Choice "Best of Norfolk" award. Chiropractor Dr. Brad Robinson and the practice are also celebrating 24 years of service to the Norfolk community. The Virginian-Pilot announced the "Best of Norfolk" award recipients on May 6 in the local paper. The award, voted on by members of the community and readers of the Virginian-Pilot, recognizes the practice's commitment to innovative care and customer service.

"Together with my associate Dr. David Milot and our entire team, I am honored to receive the "Best of Norfolk" award for the fifth straight year," said Dr. Robinson. "Being recognized by the community for our dedication to natural pain relief and optimal health and wellness is a tremendous honor. We are proud of the work that we do each day to help patients heal after an injury – and we are passionate about treating each and every patient with dignity, honor and respect."

Dr. Robinson and his team have amassed thousands of hours of advanced training, along with more than 25 years of clinical experience. Dr. Robinson, who opened Wards Corner Chiropractic in 1988, furthers his experience through continuing education courses.

Wards Corner Chiropractic offers advanced chiropractic care, with the use of Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, Activator and Toggle Recoil adjustment techniques as well as spinal decompression. Dr. Robinson uses X-ray diagnostics to determine underlying musculoskeletal injuries and then designs treatment programs to meet each patient's wellness needs.

According to Dr. Robinson, decompression therapy is one of the practice's most popular treatment techniques. This treatment is used to relieve pain caused by a herniated disc. When a disc is out of alignment, it may compress nearby nerves. Depending on the disc's location, this nerve compression can lead to lower back pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain. Decompression therapy helps restore proper alignment to the spine by creating a suction force that corrects the spacing between the vertebrae.

"Decompression therapy is an extremely effective treatment for pain associated with sports injuries and auto accident injuries," said Dr. Robinson. "In fact, it can help many patients avoid surgery and provide long-lasting relief when other medical treatments have failed."

The practice also provides spinal adjustments for migraine and headache relief, as well as neck and back pain.

Dr. Robinson is currently the official chiropractor for the Norfolk Admirals Hockey team and is experienced with pediatric care as well as treating youth sports injuries.

Dr. Robinson and his fellow associate, Dr. Milot, provide comprehensive wellness services for natural pain management and injury treatment.
