Medline Joins Long-Term Care Leaders in Washington to Advocate for Key Health Care Initiatives

Company Sponsors AHCA's 2012 Congressional Briefing Event

MUNDELEIN, Ill., July 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Medline Industries, Inc., the nation's leading provider of medical supplies to the long-term care industry, is joining hundreds of long-term care leaders from around the country this week in Washington, D.C., to meet with congressional leaders on key issues affecting eldercare and the nursing home industry.

This is the seventh consecutive year Medline is the official sponsor of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living's (NCAL) annual Congressional Briefing. The Congressional Briefing is a unique opportunity for long-term care leaders to meet face-to-face with members of Congress and their staff to discuss long-term care legislative issues, such as Medicaid reform and patient and resident quality of care.

"Our ongoing support of the Congressional Briefing is just one of the ways Medline stands shoulder to shoulder with the long-term care community on the most important issues that affect the well being of our industry and the health of the residents we serve," said Shawn Scott, senior vice president for Medline.
