SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Aug 2, 2012) - Springy, developer of casual mobile games including FaceGoo and FatGoo with over 15M downloads, announces the launch of its latest game, WORDPLAY, on iOS. The new Scrabble-like game is a real-world-opponent, turn-based multiplayer word game that combines crossword-style gameplay with a Tetris-style gravity twist. The game is set to directly compete with Zynga's Words with Friends and Zach Gage's Spell Tower. WORDPLAY can be downloaded in the iTunes App Store here: http://bit.ly/WordplayFree.
Unlike other games in the word-puzzle category, in WORDPLAY, players are not limited to only connecting to existing words on the board. Rather, they can play multiple words in any free spaces on the board. Then, when they hit "Play," the placed letters start to fall and score points for any valid words that exist on their way down; players even get points for words that they may not have initially thought of.
"WORDPLAY is more dynamic and more engaging than traditional Scrabble and other crossword puzzle games currently on the market. We wanted to create a game that appeals to people who enjoy word games, but strive for faster game play and deeper strategy," says Alex Malek, Co-Founder, Springy.
A different approach to the game's design has resulted in an improved game aesthetic featuring a more modern, clean, and beautiful interface than any crossword game currently in production. WORDPLAY was intentionally designed to appeal to a more adult audience, and the beauty of the design speaks to this intent.
"Early app reviewers and players have called the game addicting, challenging and perfect for people who love puzzles and word games, but are looking for something different, with deeper content, that's more engaging and faster to play," said Alex Malek, Co-Founder, Springy.
WORDPLAY is available on iOS devices and can be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/WordplayFree.
