MyWedding Selected for Inc. Magazine Hire Power Awards, Honoring America's Top Job Creators

MyWedding Honored for Job Creation over the Past Three Years

Castle Rock, Dec. 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- New York, NY (December 5, 2012) - Castle Rock, Colorado-based mywedding.com has been featured in the inaugural ranking of Inc.'s Hire Power Awards, recognizing the private businesses that have generated the most jobs in the past three years.

According to Inc., MyWedding's job creation record from 2008-2011 placed it among the leading private business job creators and earned the business a spot within the Top 100 Media Companies in the industry (Top 40 in the nation, Top 10 in Colorado). During this period, the company's employee count increased by 268%. CEO Woody Pastorius acknowledged, "To grow as we did, we surrounded ourselves with great people who live by a common set of values and a single vision, people who transcend their title and role, and take a real ownership in providing quality services and product value to our user base."

The Inc. Hire Power Awards selection complements a strong year of growth and recognition for MyWedding, which was recently recognized as a 2012 Colorado Company to Watch and made the Inc. 500/5000 list for the fourth time.  Executives at MyWedding largely attribute the company's success to its growing number of dedicated employees. "The strength of our company is our people," says Charles Oster, MyWedding's Vice President of Local Enterprise. "Simply put, as we strengthen our workforce, we strengthen our business, allowing us to better serve our growing user and customer base."

In addition to increased staffing and revenue generation, MyWedding also saw significant growth in market coverage within the past three years. Today, mywedding.com is established in over 250 local markets across the English-speaking world (local market growth of over 385%), including North America, the UK, South Africa and Australia, and represents hundreds of romance travel and luxury destination clients across the globe, from Santorini to the Maldives.

Inc. is the only major business media brand aimed solely at CEOs of fast-growing private companies. The Hire Power Awards will appear in Inc.'s December/January issue, as well as the brand's web site, www.inc.com.

"The top 100 companies on the list have created 73,032 American jobs in the three-year period from 2008 to 2011 - an amazing feat, given that much of that job growth came during the heart of the recession," explains Inc. editor-in-chief Eric Schurenberg. "And it isn't just the big guys that are adding jobs. Companies with less than $50 million in annual revenue make up nearly one-third of the Hire Power list."
