CTC Media and Videomore Content Now Available on Philips Smart TVs


MOSCOW, Dec. 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CTC Media, Inc. ("CTC Media" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:CTCM), Russia's leading independent media company and Philips television manufacturing company TP Vision have announced the launch of CTC, Domashny, Peretz and Videomore apps on Philips Smart TVs. All video content will be supplied through Videomore.ru.

Philips Smart TVs offer viewers a catch up service for content on the CTC Media's channels, as well as the entire Videomore.ru archive, which contains a selection of the Company's series, including previously unaired content and programs from other rights holders.

Such CTC hit shows as "The Kitchen", "Boarding School", "Doctor Zaitseva's Diary", "Gamers", "Urals Pelmeny", "Traffic Light" are already available to watch on Philips Smart TVs. Domashny shows include "One for All", "Wedding Dress", "Decorative Passions", "Ask the Chef", "The Female Shape", and Peretz shows include "+100500", "Anecdotes", "Russia's Craziest Video", "Road Wars", "Gentlemen in the Countryside" (1st and 2nd seasons) etc.

The recently launched Videomore app offers a large amount of both new and archive content from REN TV and Channel 5 in addition to the existing CTC Media content available on the portal. Some of the most popular shows of Channel 5 include the series of popular science programs "History from the Future", "Truth of Life" and "Online Now" programs, while REN TV's content includes the science show "The territory of Misconception", the family relations show "Love 911", and the "Dinner Party" cooking show etc.

The total amount of content available to viewers is more than 13,000 videos.

The Philips Smart TV apps have an intuitive interface and contain the following options:

  • Viewing status (the number of shows watched out of the total)
  • Resume playback
  • Continuous playback (automatically plays the next episode when the previous one has finished)
  • Notifications about the release of new episodes of viewers' favorite series
