With effect from 1 April 2013, the Supervisory Board of HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG has appointed Frank Harting as a Board Member of the company. Mr Harting, aged 48, succeeds Karl-Gerhard Metzner, who will retire from the Board of Management having reached the retirement age of 65 years on 30 April 2013.
Frank Harting recently headed an international sales project at HDI-Gerling America Insurance in Chicago. Previously he was Regional Manager of the HDI-Gerling Industrial Branch in Hannover. In his new position, Frank Harting will be responsible for Aviation and Group Accident Insurance and IT Demand and Contract Service. Board Member Dr Joachim ten Eicken will assume responsibility for the Marine line, previously the responsibility of Karl-Gerhard Metzner, in addition to his existing responsibility for Property and Engineering Insurance.
Mr Metzner will continue to advise the company in a consultancy role and will remain closely associated as a member of various committees. Herbert K. Haas, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of HDI-Gerling Industrie, would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Metzner for his many years of cooperation: "We wish Mr Metzner all the best and we would like to express our thanks to him for his many years of service and successful work in the company." Karl-Gerhard Metzner has been a Member of the Board of Management at HDI-Gerling Industrie since 2007, with responsibility for the lines Marine, Accident and Aviation Insurance. Prior to that he had been a Member of the Board of Management of Gerling-Konzern Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG since 2003.
