Thanks to renewed financial support from VINNOVA, Sweden’s Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, EXINI will continue to develop its software for analyses of metastasized prostate and breastcancer from two dimensional (2D) to three dimensional (3D) images.
The software that EXINI has developed and sells today is based on the 2D nuclear medical images of the skeleton that are used in most hospitals. The fast developing 3D technology enables a more precise analysis of the size, number and position of the metastases.
EXINI will use the new VINNOVA support of 223 000 SEK to develop a project plan for the transition from 2D to 3D images. Upon completion, EXINI will be eligible to apply for a 5 MSEK grant from VINNOVA to carry out the plan. Even in 2012 EXINI was granted support in a national project for medical imaging analyses.
