UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill., Aug. 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Applied Systems today announced that Michael Howe has joined the company's executive team as senior vice president of product management. Bringing more than 20 years of software experience to the company, Howe is now responsible for the management and direction of Applied Systems' growing product portfolio and will report to Mark Layden, chief operating officer.
Prior to joining Applied Systems, Howe was senior vice president of product management and marketing at Aptean, a leading global provider of enterprise application software. Prior to that, he spent over 10 years in several executive management positions at SAP. Howe began his career as a software engineer at Great-West Life Assurance.

Howe earned his undergraduate degree in computer science at the University of Colorado Boulder and completed a master's degree in business administration at Harvard Business School.
