Panini to Have Prominent Role in Major Italian Payment Show

Round Table Session, Exhibit, Training, and Innovation Featured by Panini at SPIN Conference & Expo

TORINO, ITALY--(Marketwired - Jun 23, 2014) - Panini, the global market leader in distributed check capture, will again be featured at this year's SPIN Conference & Expo, the Italian event dedicated to payment systems and services held on June 23-24 at the Magazzini del Cotone Conference Center -- Porto Antico di Genova, Italy.

Panini will share its research and innovation related to paper reduction and simplification in bank teller environments including the digital processing of non-cash payments. Central to the two day event is a round table session of industry experts on Tuesday, June 24. Panini is proud to serve as a respected industry leader and will share best practices and demonstrate its most advanced solutions for banking and payments. Francesco Grasso, Panini's Corporate Marketing Manager, will explain how check dematerialization can create efficiency and enhance security for global financial institutions, and will present factors which can favor or inhibit check usage.

For the duration of the event, Panini will display their innovative patented security system (Italian Patent and Trademarks Office/UIBM -- application TO2013A001058) for the management of the new Italian check format being introduced by ABI (Italian Banking Association), along with the leading-edge capture and decoding capabilities which have always characterized Panini devices. The company's solutions deliver compliance with the new Italian law and meet all demanding security requirements (Datamatrix 2D barcode, OCR line, CMC7 magnetic codeline, and microperforated security string).

Panini solutions that have always been a hallmark of improved teller and branch operations in banks and post offices have been enhanced to meet the demands of today's marketplace ranging from mobile operations (such as roaming agents or temporary branches) to remote deposit capture (RDC) applications, and point-of-sale processing of checks and meal voucher based payments.

On Tuesday, June 24, from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM, the Panini team will also host a workshop at their booth titled, "Digitizing with Human Touch, Experiences from the Banking World." The session will present a strategic project, which involved close collaboration between Panini and one of the largest Italian banking groups, focused on paper reduction (checks and other documents) at the teller. A live demonstration of the solution will be shown at the end of the session.

"Our company has reached important milestones within application environments where Panini's devices stand out for their innovation, scalability, quality, and user-friendliness," commented Michael Pratt, Panini CEO. "By partnering with our customers and truly understanding their businesses, we are able to pair appropriate, cost effective solutions to meet their current and future needs. Working alongside leading Italian financial institutions such as Cassa di Risparmio di Rieti and Cassa di Risparmio di Spoleto to integrate our teller dematerialization solutions and with firms such as Mail Express, who needed an efficient way to process postal payment slips, we have been able to demonstrate our commitment to deliver value for our customers and partners."

Panini will be exhibiting in SPIN's booth 13, offering demonstrations of the Panini ml:Deal, the first wireless check scanner operable with mobile devices, the Panini I:Deal low volume scanner, and the Vision X desktop check scanners featuring the MFS-A4 page scanning docking station, compatible with rigid documents such as ID cards and paper documents up to A4/full page size.
