Sika expands presence in Brazil

Sika has opened a new plant in Aparecida de Goiânia, state of Goiás, mid-western Brazil, which is the seventh plant in Brazil. Goiás is one of the fastest growing states in Brazil, providing an excellent platform for Sika to supply the central and northern markets in the country. The latest investment complements Sika's supply chain which covers the entire Brazilian market.

The new plant brings Sika closer to its customer base in the mid-west of Brazil. Increased customer proximity and higher logistics efficiency help meet the increasing demand for products in the construction markets, mostly concrete admixtures, waterproofing systems and grouts.

Sika CEO Jan Jenisch: "The new plant in Aparecida de Goiâna is, in addition to the acquisition of Lwart Química earlier this year, a further step in our strategic expansion in Brazil initiated in 2012. Sika now operates seven factories in the country."

Thanks to its improved supply chain, Sika will experience a greater benefit  from Brazil's vast investments into rail and road infrastructure, airports and power supply. Currently under construction are infrastructure projects with an investment volume of over CHF 80 billion and a combined CHF 100 billion project volume is either at tender phase or awarded and awaiting construction.

Most recently Sika Brazil contributed with diverse solutions to the construction, refurbishment and maintenance of the stadiums and their infrastructure for the Worldcup Championship.
