The GFAS is a cornerstone of Novastep’s medical education platform and is designed to alternate each year between European and North American venues. The Symposium features an agenda that is specifically focused on foot and ankle pathologies, with members of faculty recruited from both sides of the Atlantic. It is being co-chaired by Arthur K. Walling, M.D., Chairman of the A.O. North America foot and ankle courses since 1999 and Lowell Weil, Jr., DPM, FACFAS, internationally recognized educator and author of more than 50 scientific papers and book chapters. “This symposium will have a combination of expertise from leading foot and ankle surgeons. U.S. and European members of faculty will present their philosophies, procedures and outcomes that are geographically unique making this a meeting not to be missed. The format will be lecture and case controversy based on topics that are applicable to all foot and ankle surgeons which gives attendees the opportunity to really hear what specialists are doing in their day to day practices” said Weil.
In addition to the didactic sessions, participants will also have the opportunity to hear compelling point/counterpoint discussions and take part in practical, hands-on workshops. “Our primary objective in constructing this course is to offer the participants the most current treatment methods for an array of foot and ankle disorders.” explained Walling. “We have assembled a diverse group of foot and ankle surgeons so that they can explain ‘how they do it.’ With a combination of didactics, case presentations and labs, the participants should receive a world class experience.”
