NEFT Appoints Former U.S. Department of Defense Official as Head of Information Security


NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 18, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NEFT, a financial technology company creating a platform to integrate and enhance key components of the U.S. consumer debt, credit, credit reporting and credit scoring industries, today announced the appointment of David Davis as its new chief information security officer, effective immediately.

Reporting directly to NEFT’s CEO Chad Swensen, Davis will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the organization’s information security systems, as well as meeting compliance protocols with strategic partners as the company prepares to launch a pilot version of its mPowerCredit™ software solution. 

“David’s experience and leadership skills in IT security systems, including his military background, make us that much stronger in navigating today’s 21st century cyber threats,” said Swensen. “His knowledge and ability to bring the latest security standards from the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency to the commercial sector will truly be an asset to NEFT.” 

Davis has nearly 20 years of IT security experience serving in various leadership roles across many industries, such as military, energy, gaming, hospitality, education, software development, as well as local and state governments. Prior to NEFT, Davis served as a marine expeditionary force information systems management officer, where he was responsible for the management, security and data integrity of classified, unclassified and multi-national coalition network systems supporting more than 55,000 marines and sailors domestically and abroad.

Davis has received the following professional certifications: Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C/CISO), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (C/EH), Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator (C|HFI) and EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (E/CSA).

A Gulf War veteran who served in the Marine Corps, Davis also received a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and an MBA, both from Ashford University.
