Scitent Wins Chief Learning Officer Magazine's 2016 Learning in Practice Award for Excellence in Blended Learning

National award honors organizations that craft new, innovative education initiatives in the learning, development industry

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA--(Marketwired - October 04, 2016) - Scitent, Inc., a full-service eLearning company dedicated to the growth of an organization's eLearning business, won the Silver 2016 Learning in Practice Award for Excellence in Blended Learning. The award is sponsored by Chief Learning Officer magazine and recognizes outstanding achievement by learning executives, organizations and vendors in the learning and development industry.

Scitent representatives attended the magazine's Fall 2016 CLO Symposium Plus event, which was held in September in Scottsdale, Ariz., to receive the award. This is the second straight year that Scitent has been honored with these awards. Last year, the company won a Bronze award for Excellence in Community Service.

"Since 2003, the Chief Learning Officer Learning in Practice Awards have recognized learning leaders who demonstrate excellence in the design and delivery of employee development programs through a combination of qualities such as leadership, vision, business acumen and strategic alignment," said Mike Prokopeak, vice president and editor in chief of Chief Learning Officer. "Winning Silver in the Excellence in Blended Learning category demonstrates Scitent's commitment to innovation and the advancement of the L&D field."

Scitent was recognized for working with its client, the American Heart Association (AHA), to grow the effectiveness of the AHA's first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced lifesaving training network by introducing a blended (online and in-person) cardio CPR learning program. The goal was to increase the total number of students reached, in addition to the quality of their training experience and the retention of the learning.

Scitent's VP, Vicky Mossman, said the award acknowledges the success of the partnership with AHA. "Impressively, more than 5 million courses have been taken online to date through the blended learning initiative we launched with AHA," said Mossman. "We are extremely proud of that accomplishment, and it is thrilling for our work to also be acknowledged by such a prestigious and coveted industry award."
