TheRecover.com reports Drug Overdose in America Is Now the Leading Cause of Death of 50 Year Olds and Under

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The opioid crisis is causing devastation in America and it shows no sign of slowing down.  The burden lies on each state to handle this growing epidemic that is costing them millions in health care and criminal justice services.  CASA (The National Center of Addiction and Substance Abuse), has come out with a new guide to give states strategies to implement to help prevent and deal with opioid misuse and addiction.  The guide is a treatment focused plan to help with preventing and lowering the number of addiction and addiction related deaths. It also focuses on improving treatment centers for addiction including the criminal justice system.

The opioid crisis hits the young and the old, singles and couples, rich and poor, educated and uneducated.  Many treatment facilities are now specializing in making the rehabilitation process more appealing and comfortable for the many who struggle to take that first step.  These facilities are staffed with professionals who each deal with the intricacies of the addiction and getting to the core reason it started.  The doctors and psychologists deal with eating disorders, pain management, family crisis issues, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and all the issues that lead to drug use.  There are treatment centers for couples who want to go into treatment together where they can get couples therapy and learn the same steps to get and stay clean.

There are treatment centers that allow pets so that those individuals who cannot leave their beloved animal can bring them with them as an additional source of comfort and support.  There are centers specifically for adolescents and teens which have a huge support system for the families.  The level of care and the offerings you receive will vary considerably depending on what you can afford or what your insurance will cover.  There are basic publicly funded detox and rehab centers that are inexpensive or free and offer help to individuals who need employment services, transportation, child care and 12 step programs.  Mid-level care will offer more intensive treatment programs, family counseling, marriage counseling, life skills, and other programs to help after release from the program.  This level of care can usually be found through hospitals, community centers or standalone rehab centers.  Upper and high-level care facilities are luxury accommodations on beautiful grounds, good nutritionally prepared meals, gym facilities, swimming pools, gardens and walking paths, yoga and meditation as well as massages and spa treatments.

These programs are quite expensive but excellent insurance will cover the cost.  Private payment will always be accepted.  There is a treatment program for every single person in any situation.  The states are beginning to implement the necessary changes to improve the care offered and to offer education to the public about the dangers of the misuse of opioids that lead to the devastation of addiction that, if not treated, will end in death.
