IGEN Networks Announces Medallion GPS Now Available on Sprint IoT Factory

Murrieta, CA, May 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IGEN Networks Corporation (OTCQB: IGEN, CSE: IGN), a leading innovator of cloud-based and Internet of Things (IoT) automotive solutions for the protection and management of mobile assets, today announced its Medallion® GPS and Medallion® Pro asset protection devices are available as one of the first solutions in Sprint’s groundbreaking IoT Factory initiative. Sprint’s IoT Factory enables commercial and enterprise customers to explore, select and rapidly implement innovative, finished IoT solutions according to their unique needs.

“We are excited to be one of the first platforms available in the Sprint IoT Factory,” said Neil Chan, CEO of IGEN Networks. “We believe this initiative places Sprint in a clear leadership position as business and enterprise customers seek proven IoT solutions that create real business returns. Sprint is an ideal partner for IGEN, as it offers unmatched network spectrum holdings, a rich ecosystem of apps, world-class automotive telematics and more to create a robust technology ecosystem for businesses adopting connected devices, such as our Medallion solutions.”

Medallion GPS and Medallion Pro asset tracking units enable business users ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises to monitor company vehicles, track employee mileage, analyze driving behavior and have peace of mind in the event of a theft. Installation is quick and discreet, reducing the risk that the Medallion unit would be discovered or removed. Additionally, the Medallion GPS Pro device features an internal backup battery, so even if the vehicle loses power or the battery is removed, tracking will continue uninterrupted.

Medallion GPS will include the first month of service with purchase, then offer a convenient month-to-month service for customers. Other features include location updates during every ignition on and off, as well as every 5 minutes while driving, so businesses can always know a vehicle’s current location, as well as customizable text and e-mail notifications for updates such as low battery, speeding, ignition on/off, and boundary crossings and more.

Users adopting Medallion GPS Pro will have additional features, such as remote starter disable preventing anyone from turning on the ignition, an internal backup battery allows tracking for up to two weeks even if the vehicle has no power or the device is disconnected, and the ability to connect up to two external devices, such as a car alarm or doors, for monitoring via the Medallion Pro device.

“Sprint has built an incredible business as an innovative provider of mobile connectivity solutions for business, and we are proud to contribute an exciting new solution to the IoT Factory,” said Abel Sierra, VP Business Development. “Sprint recognizes the incredible power of data analytics and have made an industry leading commitment to enable businesses to not only find outstanding IoT solutions, but also to generate real business ROI by offering proven solutions ready to implement in a business setting.”

The Sprint IoT Factory platform is enabled through a strategic relationship with myDevices, the Internet of Things (IoT) solutions company that “simplifies the connected world” to accelerate the development and sales of finished IoT solutions. Sprint’s converged business solutions in the IoT Factory offer customers a number of advantages, including superior network spectrum holdings, powerful worldwide wireline and wireless connectivity to an incredible influx of technological innovation and resources from Sprint’s parent company, SoftBank.
