Heroin Detox Clinics: Dad-of-five Gave up Heroin Addiction after Finding God

SAN DIEGO, May 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A father of five finally gave up the long years of heroin addiction after finding GOD. Sean Kelly, 42, put his faith in Oldhams Church to put an end to his drug problem that lasted for more than two decades.

The change was not easy. It was not until all his children were visiting a playgroup and dragged him along the church. By then, he saw a new and positive side of life. At present, he is one of the leaders in the 12-Step Recovery Programme of Oldhams Church, a course that takes place throughout the year.

Sean said that his addiction did not last long. He has been in the game for more than 23 years. He instantly knew that being addicted to heroin is not right, so he tried his best to sort it out. He has been in treatment many times, but he has not seen an improvement at all.

He was born in Belfast and moved to Bolton, Grtr Mancs., because of his parent’s divorce. After getting non-stop abuse in the children homes growing up, he began taking the drug. When he reached 18, his habit of taking cannabis and alcohol became more advanced. He was taken care by some social services at 12 and suffered sexual and physical abuse. He said things were rough at home. They did not have much. Aside from smoking, he was drinking and taking cannabis.

In 2011, he married Kelly and was given adorable kids. He was pulled along to Oldhams Church by them who were eager to attend the kid’s club with their friends. He said that he has been to a multitude of Christmas services and considered it a family. He found himself praying in the church for the man who abused his life. With every single and deep prayer, his life has changed. He was clean since last year and that is all because of his addiction to God.
