Mixbook Helps Families Rebuild Memories After Camp Fire

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Dec. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mixbook, an online design tool used to create fully customizable photo goods like books, cards, calendars and prints, announced its support of wildfire survivors today. This adds to the Mixbook “Rebuild Reconnect” initiative, developed to help communities impacted by natural disasters rebuild their memories through photos.

Recreate Lost Memories
Mixbook invites any family displaced or impacted by the recent California wildfires, customer or not, to order a free Mixbook product of their choice (photo book, cards, prints and more). While some families were able to grab a few photos before they were evacuated, many were not.

Mixbook customer and long-time Paradise resident, Alicia Brogden, reached out to the Mixbook support team regarding a large calendar order she recently made that was lost in the fire.

“We lost everything in the Camp Fire, including our homes and everything we owned and cherished,” said Alicia Brogden, an artist and photographer. “I've been making custom photo calendars for my family, friends and neighbors for almost a decade. I am so grateful that Mixbook offered to replace my order so I can give back a small piece of what was lost to family and friends, and help raise money to give back to our community.”

Reconnect with Their Communities
In addition, Mixbook has donated 1 percent of its Black Friday revenues, one of the busiest days of the year, to fire victims’ relief in partnership with local charitable organizations. The donation provided funding for numerous initiatives, which have included supporting a local church and schools impacted by the fires, and sending a 15-foot trailer loaded with supplies to the Paradise area.

“Our team lives and works in Northern California, so we saw firsthand the devastating impact of the fires and wanted to help the communities by restoring some of their most valued possessions,” said Andrew Laffoon, Mixbook’s CEO. “In addition to helping families restore their memories, Mixbook is partnering with local charitable organizations and churches, supplying much needed clothing and household items, and organizing donations to provide relief.”

This offer is limited to residents of fire-impacted areas; for more information, click here.
