Canadian Businesses Now Eligible For Up To $5 Million In Rebates For Electric Vehicle Fast-Charging Stations

TORONTO, March 06, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Natural Resources Canada has renewed the Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Initiative (EVAFIDI). Through EVAFIDI, the Government of Canada is investing $96.4M to support the creation of a coast-to-coast charging network for electric vehicles among other projects.

Businesses installing fast-charging stations for electric vehicles by the end of 2020 are eligible to receive up to 50% of total project costs rebated through EVAFIDI. The program provides $50,000 per fast-charging station up to $5 million in funding for a single applicant.

Executives in retail, food services, convenience, and property management businesses are encouraged to contact ChargeLab by April 1, 2019 for support in seeking funding.

ChargeLab is a turnkey provider of electric vehicle charging solutions with extensive experience helping businesses benefit from government funding opportunities. To date, ChargeLab has helped dozens of property owners apply for millions of dollars in grants.

"These investments support the ingenuity of Canadian electric vehicle and alternative fuel companies. Green infrastructure is paving the way to a low-carbon future in both commercial and consumer markets,” said Jim Carr, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources.

“If your business is new to EV charging, getting funding and deploying stations can be intimidating,” said Zachary Lefevre, CEO of ChargeLab. “We make EV charging projects simple and transparent, so you can focus on growing your core business.”
