NetMotion Reveals Significant 2018 Growth, Rapid Global Expansion and Expanded Leadership Team

Mobile technology company roars into 2019 with record annual performance

SEATTLE, April 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NetMotion® Software today announced details of its remarkably successful 2018 year, including significant global growth in revenues, outperforming all previous commercial records in every market. The company’s performance was driven by strong North American sales and triple digit expansion in both APAC and EMEA.

Key milestones include 36 percent growth in subscription licenses in 2018 and accelerated growth in the enterprise market, with two-thirds of new customers operating in the corporate space plus a number of large new accounts in the transportation and utilities verticals. NetMotion also saw continued momentum in the public safety sector in 2018. This was particularly the case overseas, as NetMotion secured its first 50,000+ seat deal in Japan with a government public safety customer. As a result of this deal and a variety of other important customer wins in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, NetMotion tripled its APAC business in 2018.

This impressive growth can be attributed to departments across the business, especially NetMotion’s sales leadership. NetMotion has made several recent additions to its management team, including the creation of a new role for Dan Pagel as President of Global Sales and Operations, the most recent in a series of promotions that reflect his relentless drive and strategic thinking. Erik Helms was promoted to Senior Vice President of International, a recognition of more than a decade of hard work and ingenuity at the company and outstanding market achievements. Other promotions in the sales organization last year were Chris Lee to Sales Director, North America, and Jay Klauser to Director of Presales Engineering.

These changes are bolstered by the March 2019 addition of Justin Sollenne as CFO, who joins from Sentek Global, a Department of Defense contractor specializing in Cyber Security for the US Navy. Prior to Sentek, he successfully held roles as the CFO at iboss Cybersecurity and as the Manager of Global FP&A at Websense. Among many other highlights, Sollenne participated in Websense's $1B+ acquisition by Vista Equity Partners and led a $35M funding round with Goldman Sachs for iboss. Sollenne has already relocated from San Diego to NetMotion’s headquarters in Seattle for the role.

Sollenne’s arrival follows other key hires in 2018, such as the addition of CMO Joel Windels from Wandera, Director for EMEA & India Achi Lewis from MobileIron, and Product Director Paul Wierenga from Illumina. In early 2019, Lewis helped establish the NetMotion European headquarters in Reading, UK. Windels and Wierenga are based in Victoria, Canada, where the company’s new innovation center, already employing 10+ people, is set to expand rapidly.

“It’s rare to see a technology company with an established history of almost two decades experience this kind of growth,” said Christopher Kenessey, CEO of NetMotion. “There’s a real sense of momentum everywhere you look, and I couldn’t be more proud to see how we’ve improved and developed not just from a product perspective, but from a people perspective too. I’m feeling bullish that 2019 is going to be even better for us and for our customers.”

According to IDC, the global mobility solutions market is projected to reach $1.8 trillion in 2022. NetMotion’s global presence is growing much faster than industry averages and the company is well-positioned to continue capturing market share as 2019 unfolds.
