Konexial Acquires Axle Technologies’ ELD and Fleet Management Roster to Expand Capacity, Convert Customers from AOBRD to Telematics

Final Deadline for all truck drivers using AOBRDs to convert to ELDs is December 16, 2019

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Konexial announced the acquisition of Axle Technologies complete roster of ELD (Electronic Logging Device) and Fleet Management customers. Axle, based in Jersey City, New Jersey, has been serving the commercial transportation industry since 2016. Konexial’s My20 ELD uses next-generation telematics technology to automatically log a driver’s location, hours-of-service and available capacity to fulfill FMCSA compliance rules, and Axle’s logging device uses automatic onboard recording device (AOBRD) technology. Konexial will convert all the Axle devices to telematics technology by the FMCSA deadline of December 16, 2019.

“We were very impressed by both the organization and customer roster that the Axle team developed, and felt that their device would be a perfect fit with the Konexial family of products,” said Andy Dishner, Chief Operating Officer, Konexial. “This transaction will expand Konexial’s roster of ELD customers while converting Axle customers to telematics technology well in time for the AOBRD deadline.

“In addition, Axle customers will now have the opportunity to access the fleet management features within the MY20 Tower product, which contains everything needed to meet FMCSA electronic logging device compliance, while receiving real-time data on all trucks and drivers on the road.”

"As we explored our options, it was critical that we found a company that would take care of our ELD customers,” said Michael Mecca, CEO, Axle. “The team at Konexial stood out for two reasons—an easy-to-use app like ours, based on telematics technology and a history of great customer service. Above all, their dedication to drivers stood out throughout the process.”

Following the integration with Konexial, data from Axle devices can be used to dynamically match up drivers who have extra hours and capacity with available loads from shippers via Konexial’s GoLoad dynamic load matching platform. Loads are matched based on location, direction, hours of service, and economic criteria—providing drivers with opportunities to dramatically increase earning potential.
