Nordea Private Equity Completes Third Closing of EUR 208 Million of Fund of Funds

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 11, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nordea Private Equity has successfully completed the third and final closing of Nordea Thematic Fund of Funds I K/S. After the closing, 14 Nordic institutions have invested EUR 208m in total in the fund.

Launched in May 2001, the Nordea Thematic Fund of Funds I K/S is Nordea's first private equity vehicle. Its purpose is to provide access to the unlisted share market for institutional clients.

At present, the fund has committed capital to 12 funds, eight of which are U.S. funds and four European. Two-thirds of the amount is invested in buy-out funds, while one-third has been invested in venture funds.

"The prices in the private equity market have found a fair level and we see an increasing number of interesting companies in which the private equity funds can invest. To us this means that more well-run private equity funds now raise capital," said Lauge Sletting, Head of Nordea Private Equity.

Nordea Thematic Fund of Funds I K/S invests according to the principles applied in the Nordea Thematic Investment Process(tm), a well recognized and rated investment process. This means that the underlying funds are selected on the basis of the principles applied in the Thematic Investment Process.
