CES International Names Ed Solar Executive VP of Customer Operations


ATLANTA, Aug. 12, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- CES International, a provider of energy-delivery and network-management software for distribution utilities, has named industry veteran Ed Solar executive vice president, customer operations and sales.

Solar reports to President and CEO Dave Jones at the company's headquarters in Atlanta, serving as a key member of the company's executive team.

"Ed's background and experience in the utilities industry and with CES specifically is invaluable because he has a deep understanding of the industry, our products and, most importantly, our customers' needs," said Jones. "We are pleased to have him in this new role, as we believe this will help us take customer service to a new level."

Solar joined CES International in 1999 after the company's first round of venture financing. In his new role, Solar is responsible for sales and all activities and programs associated with new and current customers.

Prior to joining CES International, Solar was director of sales, process industries, at Indus International (Formerly TSW International). He earlier was a consultant in the technology practice of Price Waterhouse's Management Consulting Services (MCS) group.

Solar started his career as an U.S. Navy aviator. He has a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy and a M.S. from the University of South Florida. He is a member of the Phi Beta Phi Honor Society and a Lifetime Member of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Michele, and three children, Eddie, Christopher and John.
