GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Sept. 9, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Effective October 1, Capio's Occupational Health business area is to be discontinued and the operating units transferred to other Capio Group business areas. The operations of Previa in Sweden and Norway will become part of Capio's Healthcare Nordic business sector and Previa's operations in Great Britain will join the Group's Healthcare UK business sector.
Stanley Broden, Head of Capio Healthcare Nordic, and Tim Elsigood, Head of Capio Healthcare U.K., will assume responsibility for the operational management of the respective Previa companies with effect from today's date.
Peter Risberg, resigns as Head of the Occupational Health business area and will leave the Group at the end of 2002. During the remainder of the present year, Peter Risberg will remain at the disposal of Group CEO Per Batelson.
"In terms of geographical expansion, the Occupational Health business area does not have the same opportunities as the rest of the Group's business areas. In order to create growth, business logic and increased efficiency, we are now transferring the Previa companies to those two business sectors within Capio that already have geographically distributed operations in the Nordic region and the United Kingdom," said Per Batelson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Capio.
The business operations of the Previa units are not affected by the reorganisation.
Today, the operations of Capio Occupational Health generate annual sales of approximately SEK 1,000 M, with some 1,150 employees based in Sweden, Norway and the U.K.
