Sectra Announces Partnership Agreement with RIS Logic, U.S.

LINKOPING, Sweden, March 14, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Swedish IT and medical technology company Sectra has signed a partnership agreement with U.S.-based RIS Logic, provider of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) for imaging centers in North America.

Through this partnership, Sectra's system for processing and archiving of digital images, (PACS), will be fully integrated with RIS Logic's radiology information system, (RIS). The integrated solution will create a simpler, faster, unified compelling system allowing single log-in access to both RIS and PACS functionality, one-button click on the radiologist work list to access PACS images, and RIS-controlled image routing.

"We recognized that our product's strengths formed an ideal complement with RIS Logic," said John Goble, president of Sectra North America. "We both are leaders in providing the radiology community with different, yet complementary technologies that are critically important to their operations, " John Goble added.

As a distributor, RIS Logic will market and install the integrated solution primarily to outpatient diagnostic imaging centers in the U.S. There are about 4,000 diagnostic imaging centers in the U.S. market, which indicates an enormous potential.

"Our customers at diagnostic imaging centers have uniformly told us they are driven to find a single, integrated system vendor to provide the critical information and image management tools that power their practices," said Daniel H. Quigg, RIS Logic President and CEO. "Attacking those needs together with Sectra, from a position of strength, is a very compelling story, and it allows us to strengthen our promise to accelerate the productivity of our customers," Daniel H. Quigg added.
