STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 10, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gunnebo AB has acquired 654,000 Series "B" shares in Fingerprint Cards AB, a technical development company listed on Stockholmsborsen's "O" list.
The acquisition of 654,000 Series "B" shares makes Gunnebo the second largest shareholder in Fingerprint Cards with 10.3 % of the shares currently in issue (9.6 % after full conversion of outstanding warrants) and 7.2 % of the votes (6.9 % after full conversion).
Fingerprint Cards has developed electronic systems that can establish a person's identity by analysing and matching an individual's unique fingerprint patterns.
Gunnebo Integrated Security, which is one of Gunnebo's four security divisions, has a very strong position on the market for access and passage control systems, as well as on the electronic security systems markets in southern Europe.
"We consider Fingerprint Cards' technology for biometric identification to be very promising and capable of development.
