Kansas City Man Afflicted with ALS Gets Life's Dream to Visit Baseball Hall of Fame on 100th Anniversary of Lou Gehrig's Birthday


KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- MEDIA ADVISORY


 FEATURE OVERVIEW:  At age 11, Harry Warriner saw "The Pride of 
                    the Yankees" in 1942.  He told his parents upon
                    leaving the theater that he wanted to die with 
                    the courage and grace that he saw in New York
                    Yankee Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig.   Sixty years
                    later, Warriner was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's
                    disease, or ALS.  Warriner will travel on June 16
                    to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY
                    for an exclusive tour during festivities
                    commemorating the 100th anniversary of Gehrig's
                    birthday on June 19.  The special tour was
                    designed by The ALS Association to raise public
                    awareness of ALS, which takes some 5,600 lives
                    every year in the United States.
