Teleca integrates advanced Operations Support System for Interoute

MALMO, Sweden, August 21, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teleca has been selected by the European network operator Interoute to install, integrate and customise a pan-European Operations Support System (OSS) for Inventory Management that will ensure an efficient operation of the network. The solution will be used for planning, provisioning, inventory and capacity management with a graphical presentation of the network.

"Implementing an advanced Inventory System is an important part of efficient operation, comments James Kinsella, Executive Chairman at Interoute. "We chose Teleca as our integration partner because they have a proven track record, local presence in the countries where we provide service, and offered a best-of-breed solution with a short time to market. Teleca was also able to provide a phased approach, which allows us to use parts of their solution early, giving substantial benefits prior to full implementation."

The solution will comprise of inventory management products from Cramer to facilitate efficient network infrastructure planning and provisioning, and GIS products from Intergraph to visualize critical data in a wide variety of views. Interoute's network operations staff will be able to locate network items quickly in the inventory along with relevant geographic information, to provide an overview of the network. Teleca and its product partners will provide a rapid implementation of the solution.

"Teleca's ongoing efforts to expand the OSS business outside the traditionally strong Scandinavia region, has resulted in another European contract," says Lewis Buckwell, Managing Director of Teleca Ltd. "We have been awarded this contract because we provided a competitive well-integrated solution with market-leading products. With Teleca's proven track record in delivering successful OSS projects with short time to market this will bring significant business value to Interoute."
