Semotus Solutions Launches Wireless Access to NetIQ'S Voice and Video Management Solutions

LOS GATOS, Calif., September 5, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Semotus Solutions (AMEX:DLK), a leading provider of mobile enterprise application software, today announced that IQLinkXS, Semotus' two-way wireless product, now provides wireless alert notification and remote access for NetIQ(r) Vivinet(tm) Manager. The addition of IQLinkXS to any Vivinet Manager installation will give customers state-of-the-art wireless capabilities for notification and response via a PDA such as BlackBerry or PocketPC, any browser enabled device or using Semotus' voice technology.

The latest release of IQLinkXS for Vivinet Manager sends alerts of events such as call manager fail-over, lost phone availability, server failures, call quality problems, and other critical events that Vivinet Manager detects. It then provides remote access to Vivinet Manager, allowing the user to acknowledge and update events, and in many cases, to perform basic administration functions like restarting services, rebooting services, and others.

"Many customers using Vivinet Manager to monitor and manage their voice and video solutions want extended console access to wireless devices," said Paula Acker, a product manager for voice and video management solutions at NetIQ. "IQLinkXS provides seamless integration with NetIQ's Vivinet Manager to alert administrators of problems instantly and enable them to initiate corrective actions through their pager, cell phone, or hand held device."

Semotus and NetIQ will jointly market IQLinkXS to both existing Vivinet Manager customers and potential clients through direct mail, email, evaluation CD, and other marketing promotions. Semotus and NetIQ will launch the first of these campaigns in August to existing customers, qualified prospects, and channel partners.

IQLinkXS was originally developed as a collaborative project with NetIQ providing a two-way messaging application that extends the AppManager(r) network performance and availability software suite to any wireless device. Customers using IQLinkXS for wireless access to AppManager include the United Nations, Chelan County Public Utilities Department, Total Info Services and Enterprise Management Solutions.

"Semotus is extremely pleased to continue our relationship with NetIQ and evolve the IQLinkXS technology to support additional NetIQ solutions," stated Pamela LaPine, Semotus Executive Vice President. "We feel that by supporting sophisticated monitoring applications like Vivinet Manager, we can provide a tangible benefit as the wireless link for those companies that are employing Vivinet to protect their VoIP systems."

IQLinkXS is a product in the HipLinkXS wireless messaging software suite. IQLinkXS alert functions automatically notify a user of Vivinet Manager and AppManager events, and its two-way capabilities enable users to remotely notify, respond and in some cases, resolve critical network system occurrences. Loaded with a host of features, including an email gateway, advanced voice technology, remote message monitoring, full GUI administration and support for all the major paging, wireless and Internet protocols, IQLinkXS optimizes the value of Vivinet Manager and AppManager.
