Calypso Wireless to Deploy Its Patented Technology Using Cisco's Latest Wireless Network Infrastructure

MIAMI LAKES, Fla., May 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Calypso Wireless, Inc. (OTCBB:CLYW), announced today that the company is proceeding with the deployment of its patented ASNAP(tm) technology with Nedetel S.A. The Carrier has financial backing by Citibank, a member of Citigroup (NYSE:C). Nedetel has joint efforts with Pacifictel, a government owned Operator that provides a complete telecommunication solution to the western area of Ecuador. The rapidly expanding market has created a demand for increased services and high-speed access to the Internet. The agreement requires Calypso' patented technology to utilize Cisco's (Nasdaq:CSCO) most advanced wireless network infrastructure system and equipment.

Calypso peaked the interest of Nedetel by demonstrating the ASNAP(tm) technology that provides a system that enables the Mobile Carrier and Internet Service Provider to identify and authenticate the user, thereby creating a platform for revenue sharing between the synergistic companies and increased revenues for them.

By using Calypso's ASNAP(tm) patented technology, the wireless customer remains connected to the cellular GSM/GPRS or CDMA network until his cell phone automatically detects and switches to a Wi-Fi network. At that point, the cell phone seamlessly switches to that network and is now able to connect at a speed of up to 11,000 Kbps (11Mbps) enabling movie-quality, real-time two-way video conferencing via Calypso's cellular phones, or any cell phones powered with Calypso's patented technology.

"The project is indicative of the advancement that Calypso is experiencing in the wireless arena. Our efforts to deploy the technology to an ever increasing market throughout South America is unmatched. This sector is full of savvy users that desire a faster, more reliable and inexpensive access to powerful applications currently not available. We strongly believe that Calypso's patented ASNAP(tm) technology is the solution for them," says Alfredo Sarrazin, Vice President of Sales of Calypso Wireless, Inc.

Calypso Wireless Inc., is showing its aggressive strategy to bring its patented ASNAP(tm) technology to rapidly growing market places such as; South America, Asia Pacific and Europe. They have demonstrated that their technology brings together the public and private telecommunication sectors to benefit the advancement of the countries that embrace their technology. Providing them with the most efficient and reliable system of communication possible.
