Lansforsakringar retained highest credit rating in Sweden


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 4, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) --


 Lansforsakringar Sak AB retains its A rating with stable outlook from
 the Standard & Poor's rating institute. This is the highest credit
 rating of all non-life insurance companies in Sweden. In addition
 Lansforsakringar AB retains its A- rating with stable outlook.

 "These high credit ratings confirm Lansforsakringar's financial
 strength, favorable financial earnings and market successes. We will
 continue to work with increased efficiency, reduced costs and an even
 better return on investments," says Sten Duner, Group Controller,
 Lansforsakringar AB.

 Financial strength, strong market position and improved earnings are
 some of the reasons cited by Standard & Poor's for the high credit
 rating.

 Lansforsakringar AB is the financial hub of the Lansforsakring Alliance.
 All of which is aimed at providing the regional companies the conditions
 for success in their own markets. Operations are conducted through
 subsidiaries within life assurance, accident, industrial and animal
 insurance as well as reinsurance, banking and mutual funds.
