Mass Connections Brings Together Retail Industry at Agency Summit

CERRITOS, Calif., Aug. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mass Connections(tm), the nation's industry leader in retail marketing services and consumer related promotions, successfully concluded its annual Agency Summit at its headquarters in Cerritos, California with Consumer Product Groups, Retailers, and its partnered Staffing Agencies in attendance.

The Summit highlighted Mass Connections' strong emphasis on reaching the consumer at the retail level by bringing together various corporate elements for an open dialog on the retail marketplace. Retailers, product manufacturers, and nationwide promotional staffing agencies attended seminars and participated in focus groups and industry roundtables in an effort to facilitate improved business methods between the sectors. Attendees included representatives from over 68 Staffing agencies, Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG), Masterfoods, Clorox (NYSE:CLX), Colgate (NYSE:CL), Foods 4 Less, Stater Bros., as well as Mass Connections' representatives from retail headquarters like Wal-Mart and Target.

The Summit began with a Web Seminar highlighting the increasing use of in-store promotion in the retail industry. From 2002 to 2003, spending on in-store promotions has increased 14%, a strong indicator for Mass Connections' performance. The following days of the summit included a roundtable discussion between CPGs, retailers, and Mass Connections, as well as a final day of seminars and meetings with the staffing agencies that make the promotion of new products possible. One CPG attendee, who commented positively on the Summit, stated, "I think that we all walked away with an appreciation for the needs & issues of organizations other than our own."

The Agency Summit ultimately outlined the successes of Mass Connections over the last year, as well as the positive direction the company is heading for the future. Those successes include, but are not limited to, increased presence in the nation's top retailers, successful campaigns like "Connecting With Our Soldiers" and "Join the Fight," and improvements in the industry with Mass Connections' proprietary software and tracking tools,.

Caroline Nakken, President and CEO of Mass Connections, was delighted at the overall results of the Summit. "Hosting the Agency Summit reiterates Mass Connections' strong commitment to continued improvements in the industry and how we can better collaborate with Staffing Agencies, Retailers, and the brands that fund these consumer promotions.
