Behind the Tinted Window -- Author Offers Episodes of Life Gleaned through the Rearview of a Limo

SUN CITY CENTER, Fla., Aug. 25, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Money and power emanate from the sleek, black allure of a stretch limousine and intoxicate onlookers with queries about who rides behind the dark tint of the windows. Peter P. Zeban rolls them down for all to see in his new book, Secret Stories from Behind the Wheel (now available through AuthorHouse).

Zeban spent 13 years behind the wheel of a stretch limo, but his clients were not the movie stars, millionaires and dignitaries one would imagine. They were people looking for a good time or to ease their minds on somber or special nights. A silent observer and sometimes active participant in his clients' adventures, Zeban offers episodes of everyday life captured through the unique perspective of a New York City limo driver.

His book begins with a plethora of stories recounting kinky sexual escapades and private encounters. From the two bisexual women looking to live out every fantasy their sex drives can conjure to the "Queen of Backgammon" who uses all her talents and proves to be "a slippery eel and lover to all ends," Zeban leaves no detail out. In his back seat, women become exhibitionists and men release their pent up anxieties.

Sex is not the only event that takes place inside his limo, however. Zeban recounts many memorable weddings where the happy bride and groom got to live out their fairy tale evening in style. He also includes special memories of proms, where teenagers experience magical evenings to remember. Happiness is a frequent passenger in his limo, but sorrow catches a ride from time to time. He recounts situations of sadness he encounters while working funerals.

It may sound like fun, with wild nights and huge tips, but Zeban is quick to point out that the job is often grueling. Secret Stories from Behind the Wheel is a no holds barred anthology of nights on the job that offers the public a chance to peer through the tinted window.

A graduate of Rutgers University with degrees in management and marketing, Zeban retired early from the finance world as a controller in the oil and gas industry. He now resides in Florida. Secret Stories from Behind the Wheel is his first book.
