Media Advisory -- Wavestream Vice President to Present Paper During The 10th Annual Ka and Broadband Communications Conference

Heidi Thelander Addresses High Power Size and Cost Reduction Opportunities

MEDIA ADVISORY, Oct. 1, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) --

WHAT: Wavestream Corporation vice president of marketing Heidi
Thelander will address spatially power-combined solid-
state approaches to high-powered applications during her
discussion, "Shrinking the Size and Cost of High Power at
Ka-Band with PowerStream Grid Amplifier" at the 10th
Annual Ka and Broadband Communications Conference Sept.
            30-Oct. 2, 2004 in Vicenza, Italy.

Highly regarded in the millimeter and microwave
technology industry, Thelander will address how Ka-band
communication systems can take advantage of the
            significant millimeter-wave frequency spectrum available
to offer higher data rates. Thelander will also discuss
            Wavestream's recent accomplishments, including test
results for a spatially combined Grid Amplifier
providing 15 Watts of saturated power from 30-31 GHz.

WHO: Heidi Thelander joined Wavestream from Centerpoint
Broadband Technologies, where she performed the entire
range of marketing functions for a fast-paced
            telecommunications equipment start-up. She was
formerly a strategic business manager for Lockheed
Martin Western Development Laboratories and a product
line manager for commercial Ka-band wideband
communication systems at TRW. Thelander also served
as a system engineering team leader, section head and
lead system engineer, also at TRW. She earned a
master's of science degree in electrical engineering
for communication systems from the University of
Southern California and a bachelor's degree from
            Marquette University.

            Wavestream Corporation (www.wavestreamcorp.com) designs
            and manufactures high-power solid-state millimeter-wave
            amplifiers for defense, commercial satellite
            communications and terrestrial applications.
            Wavestream solves today's power-combining issues
through its patented Grid Amplifier products, which
spatially combine the outputs of a large number of
transistors on a single chip, enabling transistor
arrays to radiate output power into a free space beam
            with very low loss combining.
