Henry C. Fader Elected Chairman of PA Chamber Board

HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 2, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- At its meeting in Philadelphia today, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry Board of Directors elected attorney Henry C. Fader as its new chairman.

Fader, former PA Chamber Board first vice chairman and head of the Chamber's Government Affairs Roundtable, is a corporate and health-care partner in the Philadelphia office of Pepper Hamilton LLP, where he heads the law firm's health-care practice.

He succeeds outgoing Chairman Dale High, president of Lancaster-based High Industries, as chairman of the state's largest broad-based business advocacy organization and the fastest growing state chamber in the nation.

"It is an honor to chair the PA Chamber board," Fader said. "I look forward to working with business leaders throughout the Commonwealth to strengthen their collective competitiveness and promote a climate that attracts new businesses to our state."

Floyd Warner, president of the PA Chamber, said Fader assumes chairmanship of the board at a time when Pennsylvania businesses face increased and new challenges in their effort to remain competitive.

"The rising cost of health care has rapidly become the No. 1 concern facing Pennsylvania's job creators," Warner said. "Throughout his career, Henry has advised the business community on health-care issues and participated with business leaders in efforts to reduce employers' health-care costs. He brings to the table a wealth of knowledge and expertise on the subject that will serve the Chamber well as we continue our active role in advancing effective solutions."

Fader also plans to focus on other critical concerns that threaten job creation and economic development in the Commonwealth, specifically taxes and lawsuit abuse.

"On behalf of our more than 10,000 members, we are grateful to outgoing Chairman Dale High for his dedicated service to the business community and for the victories business realized during his tenure," Warner said. "We look forward to Henry's leadership and direction in the coming two years as we work together to further improve and strengthen Pennsylvania's business climate."

Active in many other professional and civic organizations, Fader is a member of the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council and the Public Policy Committee of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. He also is an advisor to the board of SHHH, Inc., chairman of the board of directors of Intercultural Family Services, Inc., and a board member and solicitor of Eagleville Hospital.
