DDSI Appoints Esteemed Industry Leader Erik Hoffer to Its Board of Directors

Hoffer is a widely respected leader, who brings 34 years of deep experience in providing product solutions addressing theft issues and homeland security.

Hoffer started solving cargo theft issues in 1966 in the Army in Vietnam. Since then, he has designed and patented a number of security product solutions that address serious theft issues, such as Counterfeiting, Diversion, Cargo Damage, and Product tampering.

Most recently, Hoffer was president of CGM Security Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of indicative security seals as well as indicative damage protection and authentication products.

He currently remains a Director and active member of all educational events for the National Cargo Security Council. Hoffer is a member of the Transportation Consumer Protection Council, the Maritime Security Council, the International Organization of Packaging Professionals, the Logistics Council, the American Trucking Association Loss Prevention Council, and the American Society for Industrial Security. He frequently teaches Cargo Theft at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, ASIS, and at venues across the U.S. He holds an active security clearance.

Hoffer also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Psychology from Northeastern University and an associate degree in Transportation and Traffic Management from NYU.
