The equity markets rang the opening bell flat and unspectacularly on Friday and then gradually moved down all day long. Stocks ended at the lows for the session.
Several analysts argue Friday's selloff is due to an overbought market and there is no cause to "sound the alarm". Nevertheless, we are convinced there exists extra selling ahead.
End-of-day chart patterns such as Stochastics indicate the market is around a top and shall head to more reasonable prices. This is not an unnatural event. Now's the time for a pullback.
We believe cash will be made by many diligent investors during the next few months. And, the money will be seen shorting stocks and preserving capital.
