New Sales Executives Reinforce IOU Approach at Advanced Control Systems

ATLANTA, Nov. 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Two senior-level sales executives bring new experience and expanded capabilities to an already strong staff at Advanced Control Systems (ACS). Steve Powers and David Farris joined ACS in November. They will start immediately to introduce the company's integrated information systems to the investor-owned utility market. These solutions unify and publish data from across the utility's network, enhancing and securing information distribution and management throughout the enterprise.

Together, the two represent a significant initiative on the part of ACS to address the investor-owned utility market, as well as large public utilities and cooperatives. President and COO Dave Moore remarked, "We have served IOU customers, as well as large municipals and electric membership cooperatives throughout our history. But with Steve and David on board, we can showcase our enterprise and system solutions at every level, at every opportunity. ACS is poised for growth, and they will be a key part of making that happen."

David Farris joins ACS from Hunt Technologies and ITRON, where he drove multi-million dollar growth in highly competitive industry segments. Specializing in solutions for automatic meter reading, Farris built an extensive range of executive contacts and cultivated high-level communication skills on his way to success. "I'm excited about giving ACS more visibility in the markets where I've developed relationships and understanding of the relevant issues," Farris says. "We have the most complete set of enterprise tools in the industry."

Steve Powers adds: "Managing information well means optimizing network operating performance, as well as ensuring the quality and presentation of the information. What ACS brings to the table is three decades in the business -- that means a proven, comprehensive approach from operations to the board room." Powers was most recently with Alliance Data Systems and SPL World Group, focusing on customer information systems. Multi-million dollar contracts with a number of key utilities attest to significant enthusiasm and keen business acumen.
