Find Mental Peace Through Neutral Thinking -- Psychologist Provides Insight, Answers to Common Behavioral Issues in New Book

LA HABRA, Calif., Jan. 13, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- According to Dan Dipty, Ph.D., all events, objects, including people and situations, have positive, negative and neutral dimensions in various proportions. It is this mix of innate features that influence how man behaves, and Dipty presents his insights into a new avenue of cognitive therapy with his book, The Power of Three Dimensional Thinking: Enrich Your Life and Prevent Domestic Violence (now available through AuthorHouse).

"We see the world through the lens of our memory (subconscious mind) and interpret the events, situations, objects and persons as they make sense to us," explains Dipty. "It is necessary for every one of us to enhance the power of our memory lens by continuing education to improve our perception and analytical abilities to interpret the world more accurately."

His book takes a look at the characteristics of positive, negative and neutral thoughts and emotions from a clinical point of view, and Dipty presents his findings in concise, easy-to-follow chapters. He includes insightful counsel about anger and stress, two main culprits behind marital discord and domestic violence.

Anger, he says, is commonly caused by dislikes rooted in thinking, interpretation, perception, experience or a combination of these things. He teaches readers that anger also has positive and even neutral dimensions and proposes ways people can modify their thinking and behavior to combat anger's more well-known negative dimension. Stress is a neuropsychological response, and one's negative perceptions, beliefs or interpretations about events, people or even environments are primarily responsible for this affliction, he says.

The Power of Three Dimensional Thinking encourages readers to become more aware of these issues and shows an easy way to mental peace and serenity through neutral thinking.

Dipty is an individual, family and group psychotherapist in private practice in Anaheim, Calif. His treatment method is eclectic, encompassing gestalt, cognitive, rational-emotive and behavioral approaches. He holds a Master's degree in social work and a doctorate in psychology.
