TASER Device Used to Disarm Violent Man

According to news reports from the Santa Cruz Sentinel, police reported to 100 Main Street early Saturday morning in regard to calls about a man brandishing a knife. When officers arrived to the scene at 12:44 a.m., the 19-year-old man refused a pat down and started to struggle with police.

During the struggle, a gun fell to the ground and an officer used a TASER(r) device to subdue the suspect. The police discovered the gun was loaded. The man also had cocaine in his possession.
