Surge Global Energy Announces Pumping Has Resumed at the Sawn Lake Oil Sands Development


SAN DIEGO, March 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Surge Global Energy, Inc. (OTCBB:SRGG), an oil & gas exploitation and development company, announced today that its subsidiary, Signet Energy, operator of the Sawn Lake Oil Sands Development, has now resumed pumping from its first horizontal well. Production testing is expected to continue over the next several days until the imposition of road bands in the area for the spring break-up which prevents the transport of fluids from the well site resulting in the end of the production test. During the interruption due to break-up, Signet will assess the oil quality and the potential for production, if any, from this initial well.
