Husband Hunting -- New Book Takes Readers Around the World as Woman Searches for the Perfect Mate

LIGHT HOUSE POINT, Fla., April 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- In a rollicking novel that is sometimes comic, sometimes tragic and never misses an opportunity to let readers find a piece of themselves, author Alinka Zyrmont shares the surprising way in which one fortunate bride-to-be lands the man of her dreams. Husband Hunting (now available through AuthorHouse), is a fresh take on the notion that one need not look far to find true love.

Alicia had no reason for marriage; she was having a great time being single. But when her stepfather suggests that she might turn into an old maid, she recoils in horror and he makes her an offer she finds hard to resist. He will send her around the world, all expenses paid, provided she returns with a husband. She immediately accepts his challenge and embarks upon a husband-hunting adventure. What she discovers in the process, however, makes her realize that perhaps she is not as ready for marriage as she thinks.

As the story unfolds, Alicia constantly falls in love with the wrong men. There is Attilio, the singing psychiatrist whose love produces disastrous emotional consequences and pushes her into the arms of Luis, her Latin lover from Argentina. Then comes Arno, the Italian count, who hides behind Alicia's beauty, and Ted, the American industrialist who lies to her in Tokyo. Throughout each chapter, Zyrmont draws upon her own extensive travels to detail the countries where Alicia seeks a mate. When Alicia finally sets her sites on Jack, a California pilot ever accompanied by a bevy of suntanned beauties, he wants no part of marriage. She is running out of time, and decides to put her devious plan into action.

Husband Hunting is a clever, cosmopolitan look at one woman's trials as she seeks to fulfill every little girl's dream.

Zyrmont was born in Scotland and grew up in Argentina. She arrived in the United States in her late teens and enrolled in California College of Law. When legal writing proved too confining, she dropped out to focus on writing her first novel. She is the author of several books, including Murder by Roses and Forbidden Passion (both available through AuthorHouse). More information is available at www.alinkazyrmont.com.
