Olivia & Will's Debuts Four-Poster 'Castle' Bed With Lighted Three-Dimensional Carved Towers and a Diamond Tiara Crown

ORLANDO, Fla., May 8, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Today at the 2006 International Juvenile Products Show in Orlando, Olivia & Will's Fine Children's Furniture debuted a one-of-a-kind four-poster castle bed featuring carved stonework mimicking a castle, three-dimensional towers at each corner, two lighted turrets in the towers at the head, and a real sparkling "diamond" studded tiara crown set into the center of the headboard -- everything a princess from toddler to pre-teen years might dream about. The furniture will be on display in booth 2073.

A downloadable 300dpi high-resolution photo of the Princess Collection is available on the World Wide Web at www.seeyouinprint.com/olivia/14wcrownfinal.jpg.

Painted in portrait white with accents of pink, lavender or purple, the bed's key trim elements are done in regal metallic gold. The castle bed is part of Olivia's Princess Collection, which also includes matching chests of drawers, beveled-mirror vanities, nightstands and several other pieces.

Constructed of hardwood for its damage resistance and strength, with rabbit and mortise and tenon joints for durability, the bed and its matching pieces are crafted to become lasting family heirlooms according to their designer and maker, Fred Golightly, President. In twin or full sizes, the bed can be ordered with side rails also carved to look like castle walls, captain's drawers for storage, or with tuck-away trundle beds.

Manufactured in Southern California, the first deliveries of the bed and its matching pieces are being made to specialty fine furniture stores in the Newport Beach area. "Bringing the new product to the JPMA show is part of our process of expanding the number of cities where families can find Olivia's Princess Collection," said Golightly.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for a twin bed with carved headboard and footboard is $2,995.00.

The Story Behind the Bed

Fred Golightly, the founder of Olivia & Will's Fine Children's Furniture, is a skilled woodworker. He made the first castle bed as a special gift for his daughter, Olivia, working in his garage. Other parents who saw the bed were awed and suggested Fred go into business. The business instantly outgrew his garage and now the products are being built under Fred's careful supervision in a factory in Orange County, California, where the first copies of the furniture are being offered in fine specialty stores.
