3D Real-Time Imaging Destined to Aid Cardiac Procedures

Imaging3's New Real-Time 3D Imaging Device Holds Great Promise for Patients, Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists

BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 14, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Imaging3(tm), Inc., (OTCBB:IMGG), developer of a breakthrough medical imaging device that produces 3D medical diagnostic images of virtually any part of the human body in real-time, today provided details relating to how its new product, the Dominion(tm) is set to dramatically improve cardiac patient care. By providing cardiologists and surgeons with real-time 3D imaging, existing procedures may be improved, and new procedures may be developed based on the Dominion's unique ability to produce 3D images in real time.

Providing doctors with improved diagnostic tools to determine the best treatment for the patient, The Dominion and its superior imaging capabilities promise to aid cardiothoracic surgery in several areas. Angiography, which is the use of x-rays to determine arterial and vein blockages, is a perfect example. With current 2D imaging, it is often difficult for a doctor to determine if an artery or vein is blocked or has simply changed direction in the body. With the Dominion's 3D capability, the doctor simply changes the direction from which the artery is viewed, thereby allowing him to see if his progress through the artery has been blocked by plaque build-up, or if the artery has simply turned in a direction that limited, lower resolution, 2D imaging does not allow him to see.

Where intervention is required, as in an angioplasty procedure, the Dominion will provide the surgeon with a much clearer view of the blockage and aid in the placement of a catheter or stent. The Dominion's technology will allow the surgeon to perform minimally invasive procedures with greater accuracy, speed and benefit to the patient.

Due to the Dominion's small size and even smaller relative price, it becomes economically justifiable to place Dominions in operating rooms. By doing so, healthcare facilities provide the surgical suite with the advantage of real-time 3D imaging, while still having the ability to generate standard x-ray views. Most notably, the Dominion performs as a CT scanner, giving surgical teams unprecedented imaging capabilities in the operating room. Delivering these multiple imaging modalities at approximately one-third the cost of a standalone CT, the Dominion is a practical as well as a life-saving investment for hospitals and surgery centers.

Dean Janes, Imaging3's CEO, commented on the versatility of the company's product: "The Dominion's role is not limited to cardiac surgery alone and plays a role in almost all surgical procedures. The Dominion represents a technological leap forward for operating rooms generally and surgical procedures specifically."
