STUDIO CITY, Calif., Nov. 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Tix Corporation (OTCBB:TIXC) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that its Las Vegas half-price, same day ticket business, Tix4Tonight, exceeded its previous all-time monthly sales record in dollar value of ticket sales by $287,000. The Company realized a 165% increase in dollar volume of ticket sales for October 2006 as compared to October 2005, to $2,426,000 in 2006 from $915,000 in 2005. Tix4Tonight's 2006 year-to-date ticket sale revenue for the period January 1, 2006 through October 31, 2006 has increased by 119% over the comparable period in 2005.
Tix4Tonight also noted that it reached another important new record, selling more than 56,000 tickets during October 2006, which was another triple-digit percentage increase over October 2005 tickets sold.
Mitch Francis, CEO of Tix Corporation and Tix4Tonight said, "This continued dramatic increase in our ticket sales reflects the ever-growing number of shows sold at our ticket booths. Many of these new shows are some of the best shows in Las Vegas, which has contributed to the increase in ticket sales." Tix Corporation's wholly-owned subsidiary, Tix4Tonight, sells tickets for Las Vegas shows, concerts, attractions and sporting events at half-price, on the same day of the performance.
