Harsco Corporation Awarded as a 'Best Annual Report' by BetterInvesting Members

HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 13, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that its 2005 annual report to stockholders has been selected as a "best in category" in the prestigious 2006 BetterInvesting Nicholson Awards competition.

The Harsco report earned top honors for large industrial and manufacturing companies. In all, BetterInvesting honored 56 companies for outstanding annual reports in more than 28 separate industry categories. More than 300 volunteers from BetterInvesting (formerly the National Association of Investors Corp., NAIC), the nonprofit investment-education organization that sponsors the annual awards, selected the winning annual reports after evaluating, from an individual investor's perspective, hundreds of submittals.

Now in its 29th year, BetterInvesting's Nicholson Awards program encourages publicly traded companies to produce clearer, more readable annual reports. The awards are named in honor of George A. Nicholson Jr., one of BetterInvesting's founders. Reports are judged on financial reporting, content and design.

"This gratifying award recognizes two of Harsco's fundamental communications principles, which are to communicate openly and transparently, and to do so with professionalism and efficiency," said Harsco Chairman and CEO Derek C. Hathaway. The Harsco annual report is produced entirely in-house, including graphic design, writing and layout. The report can be viewed on the Harsco website at www.harsco.com.
