NEON Announces Three Management Appointments


WESTBOROUGH, Mass., Dec. 5, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- NEON Communications, a subsidiary of Globix Corporation (AMEX:GEX) and a premier provider of advanced optical networking solutions and services to carriers and large enterprise customers in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions, announced today the appointments of Patrick Coughlin, Russ Schomber and James Capuano to Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Engineering and Operations, respectively. These promotions solidify NEON's management team and reflect the significant contributions these individuals have made to the business over the years.

Patrick Coughlin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has been with NEON for six years holding positions of increasing responsibility within the Sales organization. In this expanded role, Mr. Coughlin will have responsibility for attainment of revenue targets, customer relationship management, pricing, marketing communications, product management, new product development as well as market development. Prior to joining the Company, he held sales positions at Comlink, Teleport Communications Group (TCG) and US TeleCenters. Mr. Coughlin received a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and resides in Lowell, MA.

Russ Schomber, Vice President of Engineering, has been with NEON for seven years and has been instrumental in engineering the Company's network since its beginning. In this role, Mr. Schomber will have responsibility for network engineering, network design and architecture, inside plant engineering, off-net provisioning, network planning as well as new product readiness. Prior to joining the Company, he was with Fiber Optic Manufacturing for six years. Mr. Schomber holds a BSEE degree from Polytechnic University of New York, a Master Electrical Engineering degree from The New York Institute of Technology and an MBA from Babson College, Wellesley, MA. He resides in Hopedale, MA.

James Capuano, Vice President of Operations, has been with NEON for seven years and has ensured the business delivers operational excellence to NEON's high profile customer base. In this expanded role, Mr. Capuano will have responsibility for NEON's network control center, customer care, field operations, IS/IT, provisioning, change management and quality assurance. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Capuano held positions at MCI, the Department of Defense and the U.S. Air Force/National Guard. He resides in Worcester, MA.
